Who are you?
I am married and father of two teenage kids. I am a lazy athlete, occasional Playstation player and just learning to fly gliders (motorless aircrafts) with 100 starts in my logbook.
I was CTO at AutoScout24 and Managing Director at Home Shopping Europe.
At both companies, I introduced lean-agile operating models and led successful cloud transformations, resulting in shorter delivery times and increased business value.
What do you do for a living?
I am an Enterprise Strategist at Amazon Web Services. My team consist of 13 former senior executives who have lead transformations as AWS customer. I works with executive teams on how to leverage the cloud and agile ways of working to innovate at scale and drive business value with technology from a people, process, and technology perspective.
What are you going to talk about at FlowCon?
I am going to give two talks: One about the benefits and organizational implications of data mesh on organizations and another one one how to create alignment and reduce cycle time from idea to impact in a loosely coupled organization.
What are you the proudest of?
Being able to land a glider without killing my flight instructor and me.

- Data lakes are good, but not great when it comes to delivering business value.
- Data Mesh delivers more business value because data is processed by the people where it is created or used. From an organizational perspective, data mesh will be the biggest change for companies in the next 10 years.
- More than any agile transformation or generative AI.
- Kanban works wonderfully with a management team
- Kanban helps with the execution of the strategy
- Kanban shortens processes from end to end
